Project Description: The EGRA midline evaluation involved assessments of early grade reading, a critical step towards enhancing school improvement by identifying the barriers to learning and teaching and the best means to overcome these barriers. The current assessment was undertaken to compare results with the baseline evaluation and consisted of four key instruments: EGRA Student Test, Student Questionnaire, Teacher Questionnaire, Head Teacher Questionnaire. The midline assessment of 3rd grade students was conducted in the following districts: Dadu, Khairpur, Karachi, Sukkur.

During the course of the assignment, VTT has successfully assessed 3500+ students in 314 schools across the target districts. One Head Teacher and Teacher from each school were also interviewed. To further streamline the process, VTT field teams were trained to conduct these assessments using handheld devices.
